Juste one more night, she'll have to spend another night without you
E A B7
Now you guilty of the same romance that I am too.
E A
You get used to telling lies, feeling sorry when she breaks down and cries
E (mute) B7
Now that the string's been attached she gonna catch on.
A B7 E Esus4 E
This is the way you make a broken heart.

E B7 E Esus4 E
Now lesson number one you just begin to hurt her so,
E A B7
And lesson number two she'll beg for you when the lights are low,
E A
Then comes lesson number three, when she gets down on her knees
E (mute) B7
Begs you to stop at the door just before she comes apart
A B7 E Esus4 E
This is the way you make a broken heart

A E
Now we let a trail of tears for her to follow
A B7
And we thought of every lie that she might swallow.

E B7 E Esus4 E
Lesson number four there'll be no more for her to bear
E A B7
And on some dark night we'll dim the light on this affair.
E A
Well, she'll find somebody new who will probably mistreat her too
E (mute) B7
There must be millions just like you and me, practiced in the art,
A B7 E Esus4 E
Well this is the way you make a broken heart
