Weeping Tile

Ufo Rosie

by Weeping Tile
Weeping Tile

Biography:

Weeping Tile was a Canadian rock band in the 1990s.

The band was started by singer-songwriter Sarah Harmer in 1993, when she was invited to fill in for the opening band at a Bag of Hammers concert in Ottawa, Ontario. Taking the name Weeping Tile from the clay pipes that are placed around the foundations of rural homes to draw groundwater away from the building, she did the show as a duo with Joe Chithalen, and later added other musicians to round out the lineup.

[Intro]
Em

[Verse 1]
Em
A white buffalo you say
Em
And paper to roll with the prophecy way
Em
When the snakes criss-cross like roads over land
Em
Get an aerial view of arable land

[Chorus 1]
C
They saw a UFO in the valley
D
There's an alien in the street
C
We slept in the trailer
D
In January's heat
C
A neighbour named Rosie
D Em
Pockets full supposedly

[Verse 2]
Em
He was awakened from the sleep
Em
And it stayed warm under the sheet
Em
Bathed in twenty full minutes of afterglow
Em
Touched down in the snap and the crackle of snow

[Chorus 2]
C
They saw a UFO in the valley
D
There's an alien in the street
C
We slept in the trailer
D
In January's heat
C
A neighbour named Rosie
D Em
Pockets full supposedly

[Bridge]
A
And you looked high
A Em
And you looked stunned
A
So why aren't I?
A
Why aren't I one?

[Chorus 3]
C
They saw a UFO in the valley
D
There's an alien in the street
C
We slept in the trailer
D
In January's heat
C
A neighbour named Rosie
D Em
Pockets full supposedly
