[Intro]
Am

[Verse 1]
Am G Am
It's a hundred and ten here in Lajitas
E
Piñatas on the promenade

Sunday best, painted faces
Am
Lining up for the Parade
Am G Am
Oh the river is down here in Lajitas
E
Steering down the banks of Mexico

Wondering if they'd even notice
Am
If I slipped across and just kept drifting on

[Chorus]
C G F
It's the Day of the Dead here in Lajitas
E
Dirt still fresh under the stone
Am G Am
Now our love's gone home to Jesus
Am E Am
You're wearing white in San Antone

[Verse 2]
Am G Am
Met an old vaquero from Nogales
E
Said that he once wore my shoes

I finally left him in some alley in Juárez
Am
Oh and he had nothing left to lose

[Chorus]
C G F
It's the Day of the Dead here in Lajitas
E
Dirt still fresh under the stone
Am G Am
Now our love's gone home to Jesus
Am E Am
You're wearing white in San Antone

[Verse 3]
Am G Am
Dreamed I heard the Mariachis singing
E
You and I were dancing toe to toe

Barefoot on the pale saltillo
Am
I woke up clinging to a ghost

[Chorus]
C G F
It's the Day of the Dead here in Lajitas
E
Dirt still fresh under the stone
Am G Am
Now our love's gone home to Jesus
Am E Am
You're wearing white in San Antone
Am G Am
Yeah now our love's gone home to Jesus
Am E
You're wearing white
E Am
You're wearing white in San Antone
