[Verse 1]
G
Why's everybody laughing?
C D7/F# G
Weepy doesn't know.
G
He just stands there grinning,
A D
I guess he's kinda slow;
G
But Weepy don't get sore,
C
Seems like he asks for more
G C D7/F# G
Look at all the broken dishes on the floor.

[Verse 2]
G
Weepy can't do nothin',
C D7/F# G
There's nothin' he can do.
G
Sometimes he takes all morning
A D
To find his other shoe.
G
Hey, Goddamn it, Sid,
C
Lay off the poor dumb kid!
G C D7/F# G
Come on Weep, I'll show you where it's hid.

[Verse 3]
G
He's so damned good natured,
C D7/F# G
Just laughs and takes his lumps.
G
You never seen him angry
A D
'Cept when he's croaking gumps.
G
But that's no big surprise,
C
It's right there in his eyes;
G C D7/F# G
Looks like Weepy's found him something more his size.

[Verse 4]
G
Just like all these dishes
C D7/F# G
There's something in him broke;
G
Don't guess we mean to hurt him
A D
When we play our little joke.
G
Still the social workers say
C
He might have to go away,
G C D7/F# G
Well, you ask him - I bet he'd like to stay.

[Verse 5]
G
Why's everybody laughing?
C D7/F# G
Weepy doesn't know.
G
He just stands there grinning,
A D
I guess he's kinda slow;
G
But Weepy don't get sore,
C
Seems like he asks for more -
G C D7/F# G
Look at all the broken dishes on the floor.
