U.D.O.

Cry Soldier Cry

by U.D.O.
U.D.O.

Biography:

U.D.O. is a German heavy metal band founded by lead singer Udo Dirkschneider in 1987.

After Udo Dirkschneider left Accept in 1987, a large fan community followed him to U.D.O.

Starting with the first albums Animal House in 1987 and Mean Machine in 1988 U.D.O. proved to be pure heavy metal without any Trend-Sound influences. Both albums continued where Accept had left off in 1986 with Russian Roulette. Animal House was played in by Peter Szigeti (guitars)

Cry Soldier Cry - U.D.O.

4 x Bm A A Bm

Bm Em A Bm
Cold wind in the morning A telegram arrives
Bm Em G A Bm
Arriving with no warning Another mother cries

Bm Em A Bm
Husbands, sons and brothers Hailed the call to war
Bm Em G A Bm
Blinded by the others The promise: one for all

Em Am D C
What's it all in aid of? Obeying the command
Em Am D C C
Cold and tired and hungry Dying for some land

Bm G Bm
WHY DON'T YOU CRY, SOLDIER CRY?
A G
ANOTHER LETTER, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER
Bm G Bm
CRY, SOLDIER CRY
A G
THERE WILL BE SORROW UNTIL TOMORROW
Bm G Bm
SO CRY, SOLDIER CRY

The fear and all the sadness
Of what it has become
In this world of madness
Another soldier gone

Salute the highest honour
The folding of the flag
Finally the end is
Another bodybag

And all the time your comrades
Their backs against the wall
A band of brothers fighting
One by one they fall

WHY DON'T YOU CRY, SOLDIER CRY?
ANOTHER LETTER, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER
CRY, SOLDIER CRY
THERE WILL BE SORROW UNTIL TOMORROW
SO CRY, SOLDIER CRY

What's it all in aid of?
Obeying the command
Cold and tired and hungry
Dying for some land

WHY DON'T YOU CRY, SOLDIER CRY?
ANOTHER LETTER, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER
CRY, SOLDIER CRY
THERE WILL BE SORROW UNTIL TOMORROW
SO CRY, SOLDIER CRY
