Two Door Cinema Club

Biography:

Two Door Cinema Club is a Bangor and Donaghadee, Northern Ireland, UK, electropop / alternative band, formed 2007, consisting of Alex Trimble (vocals, guitar), Kevin Baird (bass, vocals), Sam Halliday (guitar, vocals) and, live only, Benjamin Thompson (drums). The band has released four albums: "Tourist History" (2010), "Beacon" (2012), "Gameshow" (2016), and "False Alarm" (2019).

The band's name resulted from Halliday's mispronunciation of the local cinema's name, Tudor Cinema.

The intro and outro are basically just arpeggios on a C#m chord, so just improvise them however you want :)

[Intro]
C#m

[Verse 1]
C#m
Six hours and I feel the same
C#m
Black powder and acid rain
F#m
What's a girl to do?
E
Be as sweet as you
C#m
I have to go

C#m
You said you're drunk, I said I know
C#m
You said you think I'm gonna watch you drive home
F#m
I've made a list
E
I think you owe me this
C#m
What do you know?

[Pre-Chorus]
F#m A E F# A
If you close your eyes and listen to what's right outside your door
B C#
You won't be giving in

[Chorus]
C#m
Go ahead, just cover it up
C#m F#
Let's pretend we're ordinary
G#m
We could be in heaven
F#m
But it's never enough
C#m
It's mine
C#m
If the world's so mysterious
C#m/B A#dim
How can we be ordinary?
B
Everything is easy
A
Everybody is stuck
C#m
And that's fine

[Verse 2]
C#m
Cracked mirror brings seven years
C#m
But your luck never disappears
F#m
You'll be history
E
If future disagrees
C#m
Take me home

C#m
What do you want?
C#m
What do you need?
C#m
It is hard to separate the goodness and the greed
F#m
When the walls cave in
E
We share our ripped skin
C#m
And then we brawl

[Pre-Chorus]
F#m A E F# A
If you close your mind to what's happening right outside your door
B C#
You're only giving in

[Break]
C#m C#m C#m F#
G#m F#m C#m C#m

[Chorus]
C#m
Go ahead, just cover it up
C#m F#
Let's pretend we're ordinary
G#m
We could be in heaven
F#m
But it's never enough
C#m
It's mine

[B-section]
B Amaj7 C#m
How far? How long?
C#m F#m
Till this road's overgrown
Amaj7 C#m
What now? Be strong
C#m F#m
There must be something going on
Amaj7 C#m
Somebody has to know, somebody has to know
G#m A
Nobody wants to know
A#dim F#m
They got it all

[Chorus]
C#m
Go ahead, just cover it up
C#m F#
Let's pretend we're ordinary
G#m
We could be in heaven
F#m
But it's never enough
C#m
It's mine
C#m
If the world's so mysterious
C#m/B A#dim
How can we be ordinary?
B
Everything is easy
A
Everybody is stuck
C#m
And that's fine

[Outro]
