Em 1979, dois dos "mais talentosos músicos do sul da Alemanha" (de acordo Dieter Dierks, produtor musical alemão mais conhecido por sua colaboração com os Scorpions.) Lothar Antoni (vocais e guitarra) e Markus Berger (guitarra) estabeleceram o TRANCE.
Os dois primeiros long-players ("Break Out" e "Power Infusion") do quarteto vindo de Edenkoben venderam mais de 150,000 mil cópias, apesar da promoção moderada dentro de curto espaço de tempo.
