[Verse 1]
D G D
Shut your eyes my darlin', there's nothing you can say.
G D A
The man in the moon won't fall on you, he doesn't live there anyway.
D G D
You don't have to be a soldier to fight in your private war,
G D
Let the blood you might see rain down on me,
A
You don't have to fight no more.

[Chorus]
D
There's nothing you can say,
G D
There's nothing you can send.
G D
There's nothing that can change the facts
A D
Not all the king's men.

[Verse 2]
D G D
You'll ride upon the stallion, I'll ride upon your mare.
G D A
We'll ride so far, ride so hard, far away from here.
D G D
When we look back upon them, it all will become so clear.
G D A
The gates will open up for us, we won't have no more fears.

[Chorus]
D
There's nothing you can say,
G D
There's nothing you can send.
G D
There's nothing that can change the facts
A D
Not all the king's men.

[Bridge]
D G
Look away, look away.
D G
You might be tired and troubled but not today.
D
When they came down upon you,
G
I won't let them get anything on you,
A
And we'll dream away,
G D
All those fears and troubles May, look away.

[Verse 3]
D G D
We were both motherless children, they sent us separate ways,
G D A
The family you'd seen beat down on you, mine it was okay.
D G D
I've come to take you back May, save you from this fate
G D A
They won't have any more chances to treat you in this way.

[Chorus]
D
There's nothing you can say,
G D
There's nothing you can send.
G D
There's nothing that can change the facts
A D
Not all the king's men.

[Bridge]
D G
Look away, look away.
D G
You might be tired and troubled but not today.
D
When they came down upon you,
G
I won't let them get anything on you,
A
And we'll dream away,
G
All those fears and troubles May,
D G
Look away, look away.
D G
You might be tired and troubled but not today.
D
When they came down upon you,
G
I won't let them get anything on you,
A
And we'll dream away,
G D
All those fears and troubles May, look away, look away.

[Outro]
D G D
Shut your eyes my darlin', there's nothing you can say.
G D A D
The man in the moon won't fall on you, he doesn't live there anyway
