Todd Snider

Just In Case

by Todd Snider
Todd Snider

Biography:

Todd Daniel Snider is a singer-songwriter born October 11, 1966 in Portland, Oregon.

Best known for his wry humor, Snider has been a fixture on the Americana, alt-country, and folk scene since his debut on MCA, entitled Songs for the Daily Planet, named for the bar where Snider used to play regularly in Memphis. On that album were the minor hits "Talkin' Seattle Grunge Rock Blues", a folk song about the early '90's grunge scene, featuring a band that "refused to play"

By: Todd Snider
Album: Happy To Be Here

D G D
You oughta know by now this love of mine is real.
G G/F# E A
Honey, words just can't describe the way I feel.
G A D G G/F#
And even though we just met, I'm so glad the date is set,
Em G/F# G G/F# Em A
and years from now I would bet we'd be together still.

Chorus:

G A D G
But just in case. Just in case.
Em G/F# G A
Well this morning I went by my lawyers place.
G A
I didn't think that you would mind,
D G G/F#
here honey, sign this dotted line.
Em G/F#
Whats yours is yours and
G G/F# Em A
what is mine will always be mine,
D G D G D G A
Just in case.

Verse:

D G D
Well you know I can't love you enough.
G G/F# Em G/F# G A
But I also can't afford to lose half of my stuff.
G A D G G/F#
There's no doubt in my mind these ties that we're about to bind
Em G/F# G G/F# Em A
will hold us both together any time it gets too tough.

Chorus:

G A D G
But just in case. Just in case.
Em G/F# G A
Well this morning I went by my lawyers place.
G A
I didn't think that you would mind,
D G G/F#
here dumpling, sign this dotted line.
Em G/F#
Whats yours is yours and
G G/F# Em A
what is mine will always be mine,
D G D G D G A
Just in case. Just in case.
