Titus Andronicus

Albert Camus

by Titus Andronicus
Titus Andronicus

Biography:

Titus Andronicus are an indie rock band which formed in Glen Rock, New Jersey, United States in 2005. They consist of Patrick Stickles (vocals, guitar), Julian Veronesi (bass), Liam Betson (guitar) and Eric Harm (drums). The band takes its name from the Shakespeare play Titus Andronicus. Titus Andronicus is known for their energetic folk/punk/indie sound (tinted with hints of New Jersey rock and early rock 'n' roll) and their use of lo-fi production.

Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

So some general notes for this song. First, this is a pretty bare bones version but it should give you a good
start. Second, the Tuning is D A D F# A D, With this tuning except for a few
exceptions all the chords simply require a full bar for example:

D G A
d|-0---5---7-|
A|-0---5---7-| Ect
F#|-0---5---7-|
D|-0---5---7-|
A|-0---5---7-|
D|-0---5---7-|

Third, You can also play this in E standard as im pretty sure for live versions only Patrick uses this tuning
and the other guitarists use E standard.

Fourth, I know this isn't 100% correct, especially the verses and outro, so if you have anything to add to
this tab post it in the comments.

Running around

This run-down, one-horse town

It is to be young, dumb, and have lots of money

We will sit upon this grassy knoll
D
Holding hands and stroking handguns
G D
With pristine souls

[Pre-Chorus 2]

G
And even my own mother will tell you
D G
I am an asshole, but underneath it all
A D
There is an apathetic heart of gold

[Chorus]

G A B
So who will be saved,
G A B
From the least to the greatest men?
G A B
Because even Honest Abe
G A
Sold poison milk to schoolchildren

[Verse]

D
The blood drive came to Glen Rock High
G D
In a white bus with red letters on the side
D
And a long shiny needle

They brought to suck me dry
G D
Like missionary mosquitoes in the sky

[Pre-Chorus 1]

D
Now you're doing time for stealing candy

From a babe
D G D
Because all the kids in Ridgewood have got cell phones these days

[Pre-Chorus 2]

G
And if you wear a mask
D
They can still read your license plate
G
And a wireless line
A D
Is a terrible thing to waste

[Chorus]

G A B
Because the more we think
G A B
The less it all makes sense
G A B
Tonight we will drink
G A D
To our general indifference

[Outro]

B D
Lamb of God
G D
We think nothing of ourselves at all
B D
So, Death, be not proud
G A
Because we don't give a fuck about nothing
D
And we only want what we are not allowed

A|---0-----0--|
F#|---0-----0--|
D|---0-----0--|
