This is a great song from Barry's latest record 28th & Stonewall. Hope you enjoy the
chords, I guess they're correct so far.

Intro:

F G C F
C G F C (Play these chords by plucking the E or A string,
followed by the two or three thinner strings, anyway
listen to the song to get this right, it's pretty easy.)

Verse:

C Am
This morning I woke up fucking hating
F C
this whole damn town and the sight of your house
C Am
Rigged up with insulin all flowing
G
I left without a sound

F G C G Am
Just like I said I expect no apologies I've had a grip on our longevity
F G F C
But I'm losing count as you add up doubts and challenge all that's said

C Am
I walked and walked and finally found it
F C
When comfort's strong interest wears
C Am
No I ain't snapped no I ain't broken
G
I just don't think I care

F G C
I drew no response when asked if I come second best so I won't waste my time
G Am
on thoughts of loneliness
F G F C
It'll be alright there's more to life than counting every end

Chorus:

F
Oh my god I tried
G
I tried
C
I tried
G F
Oh I tried
C G F C
But leaving now ain't got a thing to do with pride

Bridge:

G F C G
You know you can't pretend when feelings end unless truth becomes denial
G F C x2
It's senseless to stay for convenience sake and time

Chorus:

F
Oh my god I tried
G
How I tried
C
How I tried
G F
Oh I tried
C G F C
But leaving now ain't got a thing to do with pride
