by Thea Gilmore
Thea Gilmore

Biography:

Thea Eve Gilmore (born 25 November 1979, Oxford, England, to Irish parents) is a British female singer-songwriter. She began her career working in a recording studio, where she was discovered by her now long-time collaborator, producer and sometime co-songwriter Nigel Stonier. Gilmore released her first album, Burning Dorothy, as a teenager in 1998 and over the course of the next four years, released increasingly well-received albums that earned her a reputation in the UK music press but no chart success.

Intro: G C (2x)

G C
Cut me down, bury this rosary
G C
Somewhere out of town, somewhere out by the sea
G C
And take this ring, and give it to Emily
G C
Tell her I'm peaceful now, Tell her I've been released

C/B Am D7
I will be rolling on, I will be rolling on

G C
Well I know that drill, I know it all too well
G C
It starts like a lonely voice, and it shifts to a tolling bell
G C
Like rain on the dusty ground, small bones in the driest well
G C
The spark breeds a fiery tongue, and the tongues kiss the cheek of Hell

C/B Am D7
And I will be rolling on, I will be rolling on
Am D7
I've had my part to play, and now I'm going home

Interlude: G C (2x)

G C
There's no telling which way, boys, this thing is going to take hold
G C
From the fruit on a poplar tree, to the bruise round a band of gold
G C
From the blood in a far country, to the war of just growing old
G C
We travel a lower road, and it's lonely and it is cold

C/B Am D7
But we will be rolling on, we will be rolling on
Am D7
We've had our part to play, now we are going home
Am D7
We will keep rolling on, we will keep rolling on
Am D7 G C
'Cos for every midnight hour, there's always a rising sun

G C
Ooooooooooooooh, Ooooooooooooooh (4x)

(Fade out)
