[Intro]
A E D Bm E

[Verse 1]
A
Oh, Rosie, won't you visit me?
E
I'm in a bad way and I can't seem to shake it
D Bm
Remember the one with eyes like the sun?
E
It turns out I was wrong

A
I wish I could say it had gone my way
E
But instead I've just been waiting in vain
Bm D
I keep playing the record forward and back
E
And it's driving me mad

[Pre-Chorus]
Bm D
I was a fool to believe, too blind to see
Bm D E
I'm just a pawn in a game of catch and release

[Chorus]
A D
Every time he cut the line I thought I'd make it out alive
Dm E
Till he reeled me in just to toss me back
D A
And he did it with a smile

[Break]
A E D Bm E

[Verse 2]
A
Oh, Rose, you know just what to say
E
It's not like me to get this bent out of shape
D Bm
But I was chasing a dream down a one way street
E
And now it's out of sight

A
I guess some people don't want the real thing
E
You wouldn't recognize it if all you've seen
Bm D
Is a photograph of a painting
E
On a pixelated screen

[Pre-Chorus]
Bm D
I was a fool to believe, too blind to see
Bm D E
I'm just a pawn in a game of catch and release

[Chorus]
A D
Every time he cut the line I thought I'd make it out alive
Dm E
Till he reeled me in just to toss me back
D A
And he did it with a smile

A
They said "Hold your tongue, save some face"
D
Keep the secrets to yourself
Dm E
But it's a man's world and he got the last word
D A
So I had to write it down

[Bridge]
D Bm
There's a lesson to be learned in this
A
And that's all he gave to me
D Bm A
Victory is learning how to bow-out gracefully
D
Don't hold your breath
Bm A E F#m
The future's always hand in hand with fate
D Bm E
And part of growing up is knowing when to walk away

[Chorus]
A D
Every time you cut the line I thought I'd make it out alive
Dm E
Till you reeled me in just to toss me back
D A
And you did it with a smile

A
So I cut my ties, but won't count the loss
D
The sun was bound to set
Dm E
Now you get to be the fool
D A
In a game where no one wins

D A
It's just a game where no one wins
D Dm
It's just a game where no one, game where no one
A
No one wins
