[Intro]
C Em F Em F G7 C
C Em F Em F G7 C

[Verse 1]
C Em F
Many rivers to cross
Em F G7 C
But I just can't seem to find my way over
C Em F
Wandering I am lost
Em F G7 C
As I travel along white cliffs of Dover

[Verse 2]
C Em F
Many rivers to cross
Em F G7 C
And it's all in my mind, keeps me alive
C Em F
Well I've been licked, washed up for years
Em F G7 C
And I merely survived 'cause of my pride

[Chorus]
F G C C7
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
F G C
It's such a drag to be on your own
F G C C/B Am Am/G
My woman left me and she didn't say why
D/F# Em D C G7
And I guess, and I guess I have to try, try

[Solo]
C Em F Em F G7 C
C Em F Em F G7 C

[Chorus]
F G C C7
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
F G C
It's such a drag to be on your own
F G C C/B Am Am/G
My woman left me and she didn't say why
D/F# Em D C G7
And I guess, and I guess I have to try, try

[Verse 3]
C Em F
Many, many, many rivers to cross
Em F G7 C
But just where to begin? I'm playing for time
C Em F
There have been times I've found myself
Em F G7 C
Sitting in limbo, oh no, oh no, for a lifetime

[Verse 4]
C Em F
Many rivers to cross
Em F G7 C
But I just can't seem to find my way over
C Em F
Wandering I am lost
Em F G7 C
As I travel along white cliffs of Dover

[Ending]
C Em F
Many, many, many rivers to cross
Em F G7 C
But I just can't seem to find my way over
