The Vaselines - Last Half Hour

[Intro]
C F G Am
F C G

[Verse 1]
C F G Am F
Stepping into the spotlight, made up and dressed for this special night
C G
Tongue tied, my heart’s beating fast, same jokes and tired laughs
C F G Am
Rehearsed and fully prepared, lines learned but I’m feeling scared
F C G
Dutch courage flows in my veins, needed more but the bottle is drained

[Chorus]
F C
Switch on, switch off, dim the lights low
G
Find the curtain, end of the show
F C
Switch on, switch off, dim the lights low
G
Find the curtain, end of the show

[Verse 2]
C F G Am
Went wrong too many times, missed cues, forgotten punchlines
F C G
I was down, my words wouldn’t flow, different time but the same old show
C F G Am
My posters faded and torn, stage clothes are hanging unworn
F C G
And the queues they stretch around the block, sit at home with the radio on

[Chorus]
F C
Switch on, switch off, dim the lights low
G
Find the curtain, end of the show
F C
Switch on, switch off, dim the lights low
G
Find the curtain, end of the show

[Interlude]
