Marilyn

The Traditional

Biography:

The Traditional.

Anything But.

At a time where most of us could agree that very few artists in today’s music world are genuine in their approach, a new grade of musicians from Buffalo, NY arrive to oppose the general commonality of the underground scene, with their dark, but albeit authentic and heartfelt brand of emo infused indie rock. As their debut EP “You Can’t Rebuild Forever” makes its mark, the honest representation of thoughts, ideas, and emotions will certainly be something that resonates with every listener.

[Intro]

D C G (x2)

[Verse]

D C G
I was in the front seat of your car,
D C
I didn't realize that the light was changing red
G
Or your battle scars
D
My heart was bleeding,
C G
Are you still believing?

[Chorus]

D C G
California's gonna call my name again, again
F#m G Bm A
Someday, somebody's gonna love you,
F#m G Bm A
Someday, somebody's gonna care,
D
But it ain't me
G A Bm G
If you could breathe again,
G
Don't waste your breath on me.
Bm A D
It's gonna hurt to call this off in the long run.
G A Bm G
If you could breathe again,
G
don't let it be for me.
Bm A G
Yeah, your heart will never feel the same again
G
Ow!

[Interlude]

D C G (x2)

[Verse]

N.C.
I was in the left lobes of my brain.
N.C.
I didn't realize I was thinking 'bout myself,
N.C.
And how much I've changed.
D
My heart was fleeing
C G
Are you still believing?

[Chorus]

D C G
California's gonna call my name again, again
F#m G Bm A
Someday, somebody's gonna love you,
F#m G Bm A
Someday, somebody's gonna care,
D
But it ain't me
G A Bm G
If you could breathe again,
G
Don't waste your breath on me.
Bm A D
It's gonna hurt to call this off in the long run.
G A Bm G
If you could see again,
G
don't even look at me.
Bm A G
Yeah, your heart will never feel the same again.

[Bridge]

D G
Marilyn, I know you're feelin' this,
Em
But I know you're scared to death,
Bm A D
Of what your heart, it wants to say, but,
D G
Marilyn, I know you're full of shit
Em
'cause I know you're feelin' this.
Bm A D
Yeah, your heart will never feel the same again.
G
Marilyn, I know you're feelin' this,
Em
But I know you're scared to death
Bm A D
Yeah, your heart will never feel the same again.
G
Marilyn, I know you're feelin' this,
Em
But I know you're scared to death
Bm A D*
My everything, my everything, my Marilyn.
