The Swirling Eddies

What A World What A World

by The Swirling Eddies
The Swirling Eddies

Biography:

The Swirling Eddies are a band that began as an anonymous spinoff from the band Daniel Amos, along with new drummer David Raven.

For each Swirling Eddies release, band members adopted pseudonyms for the liner notes; "Camarillo Eddy" (Terry Scott Taylor), "Berger Roy Al" (Tim Chandler), "Gene Pool" (Greg Flesch), "Arthur Fhardy" (Rob Watson), "Spot" (Jerry Chamberlain), "Hort Elvison" (David Raven) and, on later albums, "Prickly Disco" (Gene Eugene). These pseudonyms were dropped for their third album, Zoom Daddy.

“What a World”
The Swirling Eddies

[Intro]

A Bm A Bm

[Verse 1]

A D
I could stay in California, stay a little dim
A F
But there's a light bulb on in my head
A D
I might move out east to some college town
A C# D
Study big thick books turn my fortune around
Dm A
Roll L.A. River roll
E F#m E
And take me to a better world
F#m E
To where the streets are lined with gold

[Verse 2]

A D
Now I could drive some old car through the desert tonight
A F
Sleep on hotel sheets all soft and white
A D
I will stop at the Mystery Spot see water run up hill
A C# D
I know I can make it. I'm convinced I will
Dm A
Roll L.A. River roll
E F#m
And take me to a better world
E
Where the sun shines all day
F#m E Esus E
And the children laugh and play

[Chorus]

A Bm
I can see it all in my dreams
A Bm
And I really wanna make that scene
A E
Where the people are nice, and the air is clean
D A
What a beautiful world it must be

[Bridge]

C G D
I believe I have found the river of life
C G D
It flows like blood through my veins
G
I hear a pounding like a heart beat
Em A
I can hear the thunder bringing the diamond rain

[Verse 3]

A D
I could stay in California, but I'd die in these streets
A F
There's a pearly mansion here in my head
A D
I see a light like the sun where the children run
A C# D
If I could move these legs, I'd turn my fortunes around
Dm A
Roll L.A. River roll
E F#m
Roll on over me
E
To where the streets are lined with gold
F#m E
And God is on His throne

[Chorus]

A Bm
I can see it all in my dreams
A Bm
And I really wanna make that scene
A E
Where the people are nice, and the air is clean
A Bm
I can see it all in my dreams
A Bm
And I really wanna make that scene
A E
Where the people are nice, and the air is clean
D
What a beautiful world it must be
Dm A
What a wonderful world it must be
