What The World Is Waiting For

by The Stone Roses
The Stone Roses

Biography:

The Stone Roses was an alternative rock band that formed in Manchester, England in 1984. For most of their career, the band consisted of Ian Brown (vocals), John Squire (guitar), Gary "Mani" Mounfield (bass) and Alan "Reni" Wren (drums). Meshing 60s-styled guitar-driven rock with understated 80s dance beats and other influences, the band largely defined the British alternative scene of the late 80s and early 90s. I'm not sure I got the whole song right, I find the chorus parts kind of tricky to
read, but feel free to use this as a start and make corrections.

Verse
B A E
Here comes the wise man
And there goes the fool
You see that burnt out world that he is living in
I don't need to look for the rules
Here comes the donkey
Chained to a ten ton plough
He'll never make that hill in a million years
Whip crack beating down

Bridge
B A E B A E
He loves his brother but he'd sell him for a fistful of gold
He needs a slave for his vision of the promised land
No I don't believe a word

Chorus
B A E B A
Take me any way the wind blows

F# B
You'll never know just what you want to do

A E
Or where you wanna go I think it's time

F# B A
That you found what the world is waiting for

F# B A E
I think it's time to get real

Anytime you want it then it's there

E
All you gotta do is stop it

B
On the corner and ask

F# B
Say hey you don't live today

E
Stop the world

F#
Stop the world

B A E
I'm getting off
I'm getting off
Can't get enough
I'm getting off
