The Slackers

Biography:

One of New York's most notable ska bands, the Slackers formed in Brooklyn in 1991 and have played the world over many times since. Their first release was an eponymous self-released album, distributed by Moon Records in 1993 on cassette. Their first real debut is "Better Late Than Never" on Moon Ska Records. Song: What Went Wrong
Album: Peculiar
A few parts of the lyrics are questionable, I couldn't find official ones. The chords are right though.
That Em to Em/Eb in the chorus is done thusly:

7 to 7
8 8
9 9
9 9
7 6
x x

[Verse 1]
G Bm
Give me a minute to compose myself, it’s been
Em C
Long, long time since you been gone
G Em
I can still remember conversations we had
D C
too bad that’s all that now lingers on
G Bm
So many times I nearly fooled myself that
Em C
Somebody like you could give a damn about me
G Em
But then one day you stepped into my life,
D G
All my strife was a fleeting memory

[Chorus]
C Em D C
Over and over in my head at night (What went wrong…)
C Em Em/Eb C
Didn’t lose the battle, didn’t give up the fight (What went wrong…)
C Em D C
To let you go then didn’t make things right (What went wrong…)
C (speed up strumming) Cm
Can’t hide the tears from my eyes now that love’s gone and passed me by…

[Verse 2]
G Bm
Bearing my life I somehow steered you wrong
Em C
From the road once again was driving us way
G Em
I pushed aside the things that meant so much
D C
With hope that you’d be happy some day
G Bm
I wear regret now like the lines on my face
Em C
Not a day passes on that you don’t cross my mind (You don’t cross my mind…)
G Em
Couldn’t raise the spirits of the broken hearted
D G
Chance presents itself what'd you do in kind

[Chorus]

[Solo]
One time through verse chords, once through chorus
C Cm
Can’t hide the tears from my eyes now that love’s gone and passed me by…

[Verse 3]
G Bm
But then one day I gathered up the nerve
Em C
To dream all of those ways I thought not to cross
G Em
In for this pain that flow deep down inside
D C
That still has the dreams that always know loss
G Bm
Upon the threshold I now made my ascent
Em C
Towards the door I sure closed on one careless day (On one careless day…)
G Em
Written on the ledge, just passed, I bother let in
D G
That your name, long gone, it faded away

[Chorus]
