The Scene Aesthetic

Biography:

The Scene Aesthetic is a 2-piece acoustic band from Everett, Washington that formed in January 2005. Their music consists of distinctively emotional lyrics with acoustic work somewhat reminiscent of Dashboard Confessional while still being noticeably original.

Their first single, "Beauty in the Breakdown", achieved instant success on Myspace and PureVolume. Members Andrew de Torres and Eric Bowley continued to compose songs and released their first album, Building Homes From What We've Known, on April 11, 2006.

E C#m
I can't seem to find a place to fit into without all these lies.
Am G#m
I can't even argue and to tell you the truth
E
Now that I've wondered throughout all these cities,
C#m
Through bright white street lights even thought they're so pretty,
Am
I just can't believe you.

E C#m
And when I'm alone, please just pick up the phone
A
Take a ride out of town
E
Find some place you can call your own, find yourself a new home.
C#m
Where you're never alone.
A
Go ahead, run away.

Try to find myself and take a chance.

A B C#m G#m
Cause the roads that we take can confine us or set us free.
A
Make your path, don't you break. Just need to get away.
A B C#m
And you've been so tied up with your life take a break from it.
G#m A
Or you won't last.

E C#m
Keep me, here up on top of the mountains.
A
Far away from all distress, far away from all distress.
E C#m
Save me, free me from all these distractions.
A
Violence filled interactions. save me,

But keep me awake.

C#m B A
I'll give you my trust, please don't break it.

E C#m
Hiding from all the things, leaving now starting fresh
A
Say the words and i'll try,
E
Don't give up to my word, come on just let me know.

Trying hard to be brave,
C#m
Some things just never change,
A
Pack your things, leave this town,

But we'll never go home.

A B C#m G#m

Cause the roads that we take can confine us or set us free.
A
Make your path, don't you break. Just need to get away.
A B C#m
And you've been so tied up with your life take a break from it.
G#m A
Or you won't last.

C#m B A
I'll give you my trust, please don't break it.
