I'm On My Way
The Proclaimers

Capo 4th fret

E
I'm on my way, from misery to happiness today

Uh-huh (Uh huh) Uh huh (Uh huh)

B
I'm on my way, from misery to happiness today

Uh huh (Uh huh) Uh huh (Uh huh)

E A B
I'm on my way, to what I want from this world

E A B
And years from now, you'll make it to the next world

E A
And everything that you receive up yonder

E B
Is what you gave, to me the day I wondered

E
I took a right, I took a right turn and yesterday

Uh huh (Uh huh) Uh huh (Uh huh)

B
Yeah I took a right, I took a right turn and yesterday

Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah

E A B
I took the road, that brought me to your home town

E A B
I took the bus, to streets that I could walk down

E A B
I walked the streets, to find the one I'd looked for

E B
I climbed the stair, that led me to your front door

CHORUS:
A B E
And now, that I don't want, for anything

Ooh-Ooh-Ooh-Ooh-Ooh

A B E B
I'll have Al Jolson sing, "I'm sittin' on top of the world!"

E
I'll do my best, I'll do my best to do the best I can

Uh huh (Uh huh) Uh huh (Uh huh)

B
Yeah I'll do my best, I'll do my best to do the best I can

Aah-Aah-Aah-Aah

E A B
To keep my feet, from jumpin' from the ground dear

E A B
To keep my heart, from jumpin' through my mouth dear

E A B
To keep the past, the past and not the present

E B
To try and learn, when you teach me a lesson
