[Verse]
C F C
The joint was a-jumpin on the corner
C F C
Over on Honkey Tonk Street
C C7 F
When all of a sudden pulled up a Cadilac car
G7 F C
And out stepped a cat named Pete.

C F C
Diamond rings on every finger
C F C
He wore a tailor-made suit
C C7 F
Smoked a black cigar, wore a Stetson hat
G7 F C
He wore a pair of cowboy boots.

C F C
He busted on through the doorway
C F C
Bad as he could be
C C7 F
He pulled out a pistol, turned around
G7 F C
He said "My name is a-big boy Pete".

[Chorus]
Am
The music stopped, there wasn't a sound
Am
Over in the cotrner stood a-bad man Brown
Am
Brow smiled and grinned, he said "My friend,
D7 G7
You take two steps foward, Im gonna do you in".

[Verse]
C F C
Now Pete said a-look a-here buddy,
C F C
Before I tan your hide
C C7 F
I got a forty-five to keep me alive
G7 F C
And severn bullets on my side.

[Chorus]
Am
Brown pull a knife, he jumped on Pete
Am
They fought from the counter right on out the street.
Am
Then swung from north, they swung from south,
Am
Brown cut that black cigar right out of Pete's mouth
Am
Pete hit the ground, yell and scream
D7 G7
He took his Stetson hat and fleed the scene.

[Verse]
C F C
So if you're ever down on the corner,
C F C
Over on Honkey Tonk Street
C C7 F
Dont mess around, they'll cut you down,
G7 F C
Take a lesson from-a big boy Pete.
