The Negro Problem

Bleed

by The Negro Problem
The Negro Problem

Biography:

The Negro Problem is the brain child of Mark Stewart (aka Stew) and performs an intriguing blend of psychedelic rock, funk, motown r&b, and Bacharach-style pop. The band's name is meant to be ironic, as the music industry doesn't seem to know what to do with a band fronted by a black man that doesn't necessarily perform what gets typically shoehorned as "black music" in the modern segregated music industry. The band tries to harken back to the era of "Jimi Hendrix" and "Sly and the Family Stone"

D G
I don't bleed you
Bm A
I just need to see you
Em Bm
I would love to turn your vice
Em Bm
And make a silly error twice
D G
She isn't dreamy
Bm A
She just needs to see me
Em Bm
Drowning in the mainstream flow
Em Bm
And frowning wherever I go
D D/F# Cadd7 Em7 G
So come down now little one
D D/F# Cadd7 Em7 G
Leave your place in the sun
D G
I come in bleeding
Bm A
Stumbling round and needing
Em Bm
I would love to burn your trash
Em Bm
And make a picture with the ash
D G
I come in storming
Bm A
Before your cloud starts forming
Em Bm
I would love to cut your hair
Em Bm
And leave an empty promise there
D D/F# Cadd7 Em7 G
So come down now little one
D D/F# Cadd7 Em7 G
Leave your place in the sun
D G
Start your engine

But don't forget to mention
Em Bm
To your friend that I need work

Don't remind her I'm a jerk

Enter clowning
Bm A
Enjoy me while I'm downing
Em Bm
Drink tickets and poison herbs
Em Bm
Courtesy of the suburbs
D D/F# Cadd7 Em7 G
So come down now little one
D D/F# Cadd7 Em7 G
Leave your place in the sun
