DOWNTOWN
THE MIGHTY STEF

[C]Nine to five is [G]eating us [Am]alive, [E]eating us [F]alive
We are not [C]kings we are foot [G]soldiers
Walking the [G7]road to nowhere
[C]This is not the [G]way it was supposed to [Am]be
We [E]promised ourselves a [F]revo[C]lution
But it [G]ended up walking out in the cold again

[C]Is there any other [E]place for us to go
Or [C]is there even anywhere that we [E]know no, [G]no, no no [C]no

The [C]thoughts in our heads are [G]killin' us in our [Am]beds
[E]Take a look out[F]side and all I [C]see
Is the [G]back of the person in front of me y'know
[C]How do they [G]expect us to [Am]relate
When they [E]fill our heads with [F]lies
And then [C]have the cheek to [G]wonder why we grow to hate them

[C]Is there any other [E]place for us to go
Or [C]is there even anywhere that we [E]know no [G]no
Except for [C]downtown, down[E]town
[Am]All of the kids in our neighborhoods
Are feelin' [F]sorry for themselves
Goin' [C]downtown, down[E]town

[Am]Nothing you can do can make no [F]difference
You make a differ[C]ence
[E]Oh, oh oh oh oh oh [Am]oh, ooh now now [C7]now

[C]Nine to five has [G]eaten us [Am]alive, [E]spit us out that's [F]fine
We're [C]ok, we can [G]roll with the punches [G7]any day because
[C]We're made of [G]steel and we're made of [Am]stone
We can [E]do it on our [F]own
We're never a[C]lone, we're ne[G]ver alone

[C]Is there any other [E]place for us to go
Or [C]is there even anywhere that we [E]know no [G]no
Except for [C]downtown, down[E]town
[Am]All of the kids in our neighborhoods
Are feelin' [F]sorry for themselves
Goin' [C]downtown, down[E]town

[Am]Nothing you can do can make no [F]difference
You make a differ[C]ence

Pretty Sure that's it. Leave comments if I'm wrong. Please rate.
