Livin Aint Easy

by The Menzingers
The Menzingers

Biography:

The Menzingers originally formed after the dissolution of Bob And The Sagets, a band local to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania. With the addition of Greg Barnett the band recorded a demo/self-released album "A Lesson In The Abuse Of Information Technology" in 2006.

Shortly thereafter they were signed by Go-Kart Records and re-recorded the songs from "A Lesson" and re-released their album with the addition of some new tracks.

At the Fest VII in Gainesville

[Intro]

A F#m C#m E (x2)

[Verse]

A F#m
In vibrant hues and subtle brush strokes of memory
Bm E
The life I've painted I've sold for a quick twenty
A F#m
It's on display now for the privileged and the wealthy
Bm E
God, I despise their reassuring, lying eyes
A F#m
Our home stands tall behind that foreclosure sign
Bm E
Everything in boxes from another lifetime
A F#m
Continental breakfast in the lobby
Bm E
But they're always out of coffee

[Chorus]

A F#m C#m E A
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy
A F#m C#m E
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy

[Verse]

A F#m
This little motel room on I-80 west of nowhere
Bm E
Why count the stars? You'll never know where you are
A F#m
Somewhere light years from the world you used to know
Bm
Like a lock that doesn't turn
E
Like a plant that doesn't grow
A F#m
Long for the words with hearts and wings
Bm E
From five states over, I'm running from everything
A F#m
Continental breakfast in the lobby
Bm E
But they're always out of coffee

[Chorus]

A F#m C#m E A
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy
A F#m C#m E
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy

[Bridge]

Bm F#m
Oh you know it breaks my heart
Bm F#m A
Watching your whole life fall apart
Bm F#m
While bastards dance off with the night
C#m A
As we try to break free with all our might

[Chorus]

A F#m C#m E A
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy
A F#m C#m E
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy
A F#m C#m E A
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy
A F#m C#m E A
..........Only a fool would think living could be easy

[Outro]

A F#m Bm
In vibrant hues and subtle brush strokes of memory
E A
The life I've painted I've sold for a quick twenty
