(Verse 1)

Amaj7 Dmaj7
In the corner of a dark barroom

Amaj7 Dmaj7
Sat an old cowboy singing western tunes

Amaj7 Dmaj7
Singing songs that he learned as a child

Amaj7 Dmaj7 Amaj7 Dmaj7
All about the West back when it was wild

Amaj7 Dmaj7
He said he came from down Texas way

Amaj7 Dmaj7
The cowboys were tough the women the same way

Amaj7 Dmaj7
Said he was a star back in '31

Amaj7
When Hollywood liked him

Dmaj7 Amaj7 Dmaj7
For some songs that he had done

(Chorus)

Amaj7 Dmaj7 Amaj7 Dmaj7
He's the last of the singing cowboys

Dmaj7 Amaj7
Singing songs of desperation and joy

Bm Amaj7 Dmaj7 Amaj7
Yippie-I-Oh......Yippie-I-Ay.......Yippie-I-Ay

(Verse 2)

Amaj7 Dmaj7
He took a break just to chug him down some beer

Amaj7
C'mon folks now holler out

Dmaj7
The songs you'd like to hear

Amaj7 Dmaj7
And if I know one I know a million or two

Amaj7
I'm not just up here playing for me

Dmaj7 Amaj7 Dmaj7
This is all done for you

Amaj7 Dmaj7
And then he bragged of the stetson hat that he wore

Amaj7 Dmaj7
Said it was the finest made since the war

Amaj7 Dmaj7
And I won this silver buckle ridin' on a cow

Amaj7 Dmaj7 Amaj7
As he laughed he said I bet you're wonderin' how

(Chorus)

Amaj7 Dmaj7 Amaj7
'Cause I'm the last of the singing cowboys

Dmaj7 Amaj7
Singing songs of desperation and joy

Bm Amaj7 Dmaj7 Amaj7 Dmaj7
Yippie-I-Oh......Yippie-I-Ay.......Yippie-I-Ay

(Instrumental break)

Amaj7 Dmaj7 Amaj7 Dmaj7

(Verse 3)

Amaj7 Dmaj7
And after three hours or maybe more

Amaj7 Dmaj7
A lady grabbed his arm and showed him to the door

Amaj7 Dmaj7
The bartender said he's blind you see

Amaj7
Don't tell him the only audience

Dmaj7 Amaj7
He had was you and me

'Cause he's the last of the singing cowboys
