Intro - Am

Am
In silence we shall sit
E
Contemplating everything

The world and how we came to be
Am
Alone aboard the ark

The same thoughts every night
E
Bathed in cold fluorescent light

If this is it then what a ride,
Am
Wake me when it's through.

Dm E
To have it all and seize the day.
Am Dm
To go where no one else dare stray
E Am
Forever shall we wait

Am
In light of developments
E
I suggest we start again

The 9 to 5 the 6 to 10 have
Am
Swallowed ever urge

And it makes no difference
E
When all your money goes on rent

The never ending arguments
Am
To be put off and on

Dm E
To have a place to call our own
Am Dm
To shun the old familiar road
E Am
Forever shall we wait

Am
These arms are heavy
E
These feet are raw

I cannot walk
Am
But I can crawl
Dm E
Into the arms of another Monster
A D G C E Am
Lurking somewhere deep inside

Am
My mind set on the blink
E
A missive from the kitchen sink

Regret the days you didn't glimpse
Am
A spark amid the mire

Invading every scene
E
Welcome to the working week

A place to hide until we leave
Am
To dream perchance to sleep

Dm E
To grease the corridors of youth
Am Dm
I let them tell me what to do.
E Am
I won't do that again.

Am
These arms are heavy
E
These feet are raw

I cannot walk
Am
But I can crawl
Dm E
Into the arms of another monster
A D G C E
Lurking somewhere deep inside
Am Am7 D9 E
Deep inside,
Am Am7 D9 E
Deep inside,
Am Am7 D9 *E F7 E* Am E Am E Am
