The Hotelier - Soft Animal

Besides the intro riff, I think the whole song is mainly three chords, so it's a pretty simple song, but here
are the chords so you can play it and sing at the same time.

Tuning: half-step down

eb|-(3)---------------(3)-------(2)---------|
Bb|--3-----------------3---------3----------|
Gb|--0-----------------0---------2----------| (The notes in parenthesis are optional, I tend to add them in
Db|--2-----------------0---------0----------| during the chorus or other 'large' sounding sections)
Ab|--3-----------------2---------0----------|
Eb|-------------------(3)-------(2)---------|

Cadd9 G/B D/A
We were cloaked in the awning of night or early morning. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
Through the headboard there’s a flicker of light ?and light warning. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
Sophie’s on the bunk overhead reading Mary Oliver ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
while I lay still in my bed. ?That’s when I see you there. ?

Cadd9 G/B D/A
Fawn doe, light snow. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
Make me feel alive, ?make me believe that all my selves align. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
Fawn, doe, light snow.
Cadd9 G/B D/A
?Spots on brown of white ?make me believe that it is all alright. ?

Cadd9 G/B D/A
Your soft face pressed to the wilt, ?first spring sunrise ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
standing low on quivering stilts. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
In attempting to keep you to stay I am raising no alarm.
Cadd9 G/B D/A?
It is just us two alone. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
Then I feel a sigh of wind, your raising eyes ?a rolling fog that lets you hide ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
and I can hear the rustling as you go. ?Oh, go slow. ?

Cadd9 G/B D/A
Fawn doe, light snow. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
Make me feel alive, ?make me believe that I don’t have to die. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
Fawn, doe, light snow.
Cadd9 G/B D/A
?Spots on brown of white ?make me believe that there’s a God sometimes. ??

Cadd9 G/B D/A
The ring around your mothers heart ?grows saccharine then falls apart ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
and I can hear the rustling as you go. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
You camouflaged or clearly seen ?and nameless in the in-between ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
and I can hear the rustling as you go. ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
The firing of rifles off ?the echo hits you hard enough ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
and I can hear the rustling as you go.
Cadd9 G/B D/A
?A soft and skittish self inside ?shines golden, opal, chrysolite ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
and I can feel the rustling as you go. ? Oh, go slow.
?Cadd9 G/B D/A
A mob a voices harmonize ?and tell me that youre not alive ?
Cadd9 G/B D/A
but I can feel the rustling as you go.
