"Nobody's mind has been created or designed to see those types of horrors. This is a protest song. This is not
an anti-soldier song, this is an anti-f*cking-war song." This is a quote of Derek Zanetti (a.k.a The Homeless
Gospel Coir), pulled from this live video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0n88b8CvLw). I think its a shame
that there aren't more tabs for his music on this site, so I'll be putting out a few of these. If you have a
request, put it in the "Suggest Correction" box.

[Intro] G C G D C G C G

[Verse 1]
G
When the war is over

D C
Will you look at me the same?

G
As you did

D C G
What if my face don't look the same?

[Verse 2]
G D
When the war is over what if I forget

C
Your name?

G
Or the smell of your hair?

Am D G
Would you tell our kids not to be scared?

[Verse 3]
G
When the war is over

D C
Will I come back to the home that I know?

G
Or will it be strange?

Am D G
Is it me or that house who has changed?

[Chorus]
C G
Cause there are pictures in my mind

C G
That no words can define

C G
I used to stand up tall with pride

Am D G
But a piece of me was lost somewhere during those war times

[Verse 4]
G
When the war is over

D C
Do you think that Jesus will forgive me?

G
Oh for what I've seen?

Am D G
I pray that he'll have pity on me

[Verse 5]
G
When the war is over

D C
Will I get to rest my tired head?

G
Oh right next to yours?

Am D G
Can we sit in the quiet on our porch?

[Verse 6]

G
When the war is over

D Em
Do you think that my mind will be at ease?

G
Oh, say yes, please!

Am D G
Because I wanna teach our kids to live in peace

[Chorus]

C G
Cause there are pictures in my mind

C G
That no words can define

C G
I used to stand up tall with pride

Am D
But a piece of me was lost somewhere during-

C G
There are pictures in my mind

C G
That no words can define

C G
I used to stand up tall with pride

Am D G
But a piece of me was lost somewhere during those war times

Am D G
A piece of me was lost somewhere during those war times

Am D G
A piece of everyone was lost somewhere during those war times
