The Futures

Thank You

by The Futures
The Futures

Biography:

1. Self described funk thrash from Japan.

2. One of the finest Philadelphia soul groups. The group's got harmony chops that are plenty strong -- with an ability to hit both a sweet soul sound and a deeper righteous groove that was being used by some of the funkier groups at the time. The Futures made a poor career move when Gamble Records ended up signing with Buddah Records, thus missing a golden opportunity to join Philadelphia International Records.

I know I always sleep with the light on,

Just in case they, just in case they see.

That I only dare to dose at night,

Just in case they come flying through the front door.

With their arms stretched wide enough to fly,

Saying ‘I will take you there,

I will take you there.’

With their wings stretched opening my eyes,

Singing ‘I will take you there.

I will take you there.’

CHORUS

A
And I will thank you for everything in good time
Bm G A
With all this talk about souls under foreign skies.
D A
And I will thank you for everything in good time
Em G
With all this talk about souls.
D A
And I will thank you for everything in good time
Em G
With all this talk about souls under foreign skies.
D A
And I will thank you for everything in good time
Em G A D
With all this talk about... with all this talk about souls.
