The Easybeats

In My Book

by The Easybeats
The Easybeats

Biography:

The Easybeats were an Australian rock band which formed in Sydney, Australia, in late 1964, and disbanded at the end of 1969. They were the antipodean echo to the style and sound of the Beatles in Britain, and the first rock and roll act from Australia to score an international pop hit with the 1966 single, "Friday on My Mind".

[Verse 1]
A G E
When I look into my book, oh so late at night,
A G E
I see the names of the girls I knew and used to hold so tight,

[Bridge]
D E A
But I remember all the little things that we used to do and
F#m D E A E
share, but the thrill of you being close to me, is no longer there,

[Verse 2]
A G E A
When I look upon my shelf, I shed a tear, Oh why, I see the pictures
G E
of you I took and they seem to make me cry,

[Bridge]
D E A
But I remember all the little things that we used to do and
F#m D E A E
share, but the thrill of you being close to me, is no longer there,

[Verse 3]
Spoken slowly,
A G
You know baby, when I look into my book, you know, I seem to
E7 A
remember, all the goods times we used to share, and all them walks

down lovers lane, even the fights with your dad,
G E
Yeah after all this time, it seems so real and sad,

[Bridge]
D E A
But I remember all the little things that we used to do and
F#m D E A E
share, but the thrill of you being close to me, is no longer there
