The Districts

4 And 4

by The Districts
The Districts

Biography:

The Districts are a four-piece indie rock band from the small town of Lititz, Pennsylvania. The group formed in 2009 while members Rob Grote, Mark Larson, Connor Jacobus, and Braden Lawrence were all still in high school. The prolific young band released its first EP, Kitchen Songs, in 2011 followed by Telephone, its debut full-length, the following year. The Districts' second EP, the more acoustic-leaning While You Were in Honesdale, was released in late 2012 and the band continued to perform regionally.

[Refrain]
A
We're four and four, they come tonight
Cadd9
The way times I felt half as old as before
G
But if I give this sinkin' feeling some time
F
Well maybe they've gone to something more and better than I am

[Verse]
A
Well I counted two holes in the floor
Cadd9
And I crawl and do snoz and die
G
It's half the days I can't quite remember
F
Times will reveal where you're lost and dry

[Verse]
A
My heart and mind have gone on so long before
Cadd9
I'm feeling numb some sinkin' pain so sore
G
I hope you remember this look in my eye
F
It's here I run, dry my voice and strain it

[Chorus]
Am7
So don't you lie and tell me no more
F
Don't you think I know what's lyin in store?
C/G
Look in my eyes and breathe into me
E
We all just want something to hold

[Verse]
A
Watch my woman from mouth to mouth
Cadd9
Or ear to ear, the smilin' one's lying
G
And as I lay on this stone floor it's freezing
F
But hell it's the burst in my bones

[Verse]
A
And I wish you could forget or erase
Cadd9
If I could I would but strand me upon the sidewalk
G
Practicing the game, in deeper everyday
F
Through them I see you cryin'

[Chorus]
Am7
So don't you lie and tell me no more
F
Don't you think I know what's lyin in store?
C/G
Look in my eyes and breathe into me
E
We all just want something to hold

[Chorus]
Am7
So don't you lie and tell me no more
F
Don't you think I know what's lyin in store?
