[Verse #1]
D C
Livin' hard was easy when I was young and bullet-proof
G C G D
I had no chains to bind me, just a guitar and a roof
D C
Emptied every bottle, when I poured I never missed
G C D
I had blood shot eyes at twenty-five or was it twenty-six.

[Verse #2]
D C
Didn't seem to matter what price I had to pay
G C G D
Cause anything worth havin', I’d just lose anyway
D C
Friends worried about me they’d asked if I was sick
G C D
Thought I would die at twenty-five or was it twenty-six

[Chorus]
G D
Those two years run together like whiskey over ice
A C G D
Meltin’ into memories like somebody else's life
G D C
I’m glad to say, I’ve come around, but if I could have one wish
D G C D
I’d like another try at twenty-five, or was it twenty-six

[Verse #3]
D C
I met a girl from Georgia, smart and pretty, a college grad
G C G D
I thought my luck was changin', up till then it’d all been bad
D C
I guess I fell in love with her, all it took was just one kiss
G C D
But then she said goodbye at twenty-five or was it twenty-six

[Chorus]
G D
Those two years run together like whiskey over ice
A C G D
Meltin’ into memories like somebody else's life
G D C
I’m glad to say, I’ve come around, but if I could have one wish
D G C D
I’d like another try at twenty-five, or was it twenty-six

[Verse #4]
D C
Yeah I’ve been down that road before almost as far as hell
G C G D
Deception or redemption, I guess only time will tell
D C
I have faith in the knowledge that God gave us a gift
G C D
I couldn't hide at twenty-five or was it twenty-six

[Chorus]
G D
Those two years run together like whiskey over ice
A C G D
Meltin’ into memories like somebody else's life
G D C
I’m glad to say, I’ve come around, but if I could have one wish
D G C D
I’d like another try at twenty-five, or was it twenty-six…
D G C D
I’d like another try at twenty-five, or was it twenty-six.
