Me and the Boys
Charlie Daniels
By Matt Minglewood

This represents my own work although crude it attempts to lay out a great song. Your
will be appreciated. Can't find anything out there on this one. It's a gem!

G D
Remember back when we were young
Em C
And all the crazy things that we have done
G D
Me and the Boys out skipping school
Em C
Back on the hill acting a fool
G D
Yes its so easy to remember when
Em C
Everything was so simple then
G D
We never worried about the money we spent
C
When you ain’t got no money
C G > Em
You don’t care where it went

Chorus
Em D G
Feel the wind running through our hair as we ride
Em D C
Running so fast not even time could hold us
Em D G > C
Young and free we had nothing to hide
G D C
And we were doing all the things that nobody told us

Verse
G D
Summer days when there weren’t any courses
Em C
Down at the creek riding make believe horses
G D
Acting out westerns that they had seen
Em C
Down at the picture show movie screen
G D
One year later feeling 5 years older
Em C
Still scared of the girls but we were acting much bolder
G D
And in the evening when the sun went down
C G
Back street, make out, fooling around

G D
Me and the Boys
Em C
Me and the Boys
G D
Me and the Boys
Em C
Me and the Boys

G D
Cruisin around in a ’57 dodge
Em C
Boys all checking out the noisy ride
G D
Backyard mechanics each and every one
C G >>>>>Em
It was greezy work but damn it was fun

G D
Me and the Boys
Em C
Me and the Boys
G D
Me and the Boy
