Bottom Of A Beer

by The Briggs
The Briggs

Biography:

The Briggs, started off and were known as the band, I Decline. They released an album called "Spy On Your Neighbors", but due to legal action by another band they had to change the band name. Thus was born, The Briggs, who are a punk rock band based out of Los Angeles, California. Fronted by brothers Joey and Jason LaRocca, this band draws from a variety of influences, but most noteably from the likes of UK artists such as The Clash, Cock Sparrer, Stiff Little Fingers, and Billy Bragg.

The intro riff isn't 100% but it sounds close enough for me! Please rate and comment on
my tab. I figured it out from Joey playing it live in the following clip

A F#m

Well I'm adding up the number of times

A F#m
I've introduced my conscience to crime

D E
Does it ever stop? Does it ever change?

A F#m
Well the city's different but the routine's the same

A F#m
Set up and play, make a dime for the day

D E
But by the end of the night I got nowhere to stay.

A F#m
You're on the guest list again but you don't show up again

A F#m
You find it hard to send a simple text message to a friend

D E
Let me know not to waste a spot, y'know I waited for you in the parking lot

CHORUS

F#m D
But my friend all we do is fuck
A E
Love was a secondary thought to the lust that we sought

F#m D
Let me make myself clear, there's no loyalty here
E
It's just a face I've found at the bottom of a beer

Verse 2 (same chords as verse 1)

If I stay at your place please don't call all your friends
'Cause it's one night for you but this so called party never ends for me
I just wanna sleep in fucking peace

But I tried to appeal to the masses but they just don't know
If they could just understand I would gladly ecrow (?)
But the ranting of a mad man goes only well over in reallty shows

All the poets mock and manipulate time
Soon we'll all run out of words that rhyme
Doesn't last for ever get your fix -fifteen minutes if you're lucky
but most of us we only get six

CHORUS

But my friend all we do is fuck
Love was a secondary thought to the lust that we sought
Let me make myself clear, there's no loyalty here
It's just a face I've found at the bottom of a warm, German beer
