So Long Baby

by The Blasters
The Blasters

Biography:

The Blasters are an American rock and roll music group formed in 1979 in Downey, California, by brothers Phil Alvin (vocals and guitar) and Dave Alvin (guitar), with bass guitarist John Bazz and drummer Bill Bateman.

Dave Alvin, the group's primary songwriter, left the band in 1986 for a critically-acclaimed solo career. He was initially replaced on guitar by Hollywood Fats (birth name: Michael L. or something similar in Em pentatonic

G Em
I know, I've been foolin' myself too long
Em C
Never right but always wrong
D G
Goodbye, baby, so long
G Em
You know, you never let this thing catch on,
Em C
You never let me be that strong,
D G
Goodbye, baby, so long
C
There was a cold wind blowing on the night we met,
Em
The leaves fell from the trees
C
You made a lot of promises I ain't seen yet
D
I ain't gonna ask you please
G Em
You know, none of us are gonna cry,
Em C
It wasn't even worth the try,
D G
So long, baby, goodbye
C
There was a cold wind blowin' on the night we met
Em
Windows were rolled up tight
C
We both asked for something we could never get
D
Now I'll do the thing that's right
G Em
We know, none of us are gonna cry
Em C
It wasn't even worth a try
D G
So long, baby, goodbye
