The Ataris

From The Last Call The Last Call

by The Ataris
The Ataris

Biography:

The Ataris are a punk rock band from Anderson, Indiana formed in 1995. The band originally consisted of singer/songwriter/guitarist Kris Roe and guitarist Jasin Thomason. Using a 4-Track, they wrote and recorded demos in Kris's bedroom, with a drum machine as the drummer. At this point in time the band was searching for a full-time drummer. The first step in their road to success came when Kris attended a The Vandals concert at Bogart's in Cincinnati, where he passed one of the demo tapes to The Vandals' roadie Fitz.

Here's a long evasive story of failed hopes and glories

old chandeliers and scratched out 45's some hands for my procession

No lie, no lie, no lie... believe me when I say

that I'm trying hard today but I'm not right, no, I'm not right
E F# B
tell me it's not true I would never lie to you
G#m E F#
I'm not right, no, I'm not right maybe you will see it wasn't meant to be
G#m--E
but it's not me...

Verse 2:
G#m E
The sins of the faithful the luxuries of regret
G#m
and its a faithless to have no loss tragedies

an acted up rectification with all the best intentions
smite me for my inquietudes

No lie, no lie, no lie... cant believe you say
F# B G#m
that you're better of this way but I'm not right, no, I'm not right
E F# B G#m
tell me what you see when you still look at me I'm not right, no, I'm not right
E F# E
I'm sorry when I say I'm still holding on today

Bridge:
F# G#m
And will you forgive me when I found out I was stray
Ebm E
on the outskirts of the room doubled up on angel dust
F# G#m
there crying on my knees for some God to come
Ebm E
and save this lifeless soul and my ghost will wrap this words
F#
as you cry yourself to sleep

Chorus 3:
B G#m E F#
I'm not right, no, I'm not right I never want to know what I'm capable of
B G#m E F#
I'm not right, no, I'm not right Tell me its not true, but I will not believe you
B G#m E F#
I'm not right, no, I'm not right Maybe you will see that it wasn't meant to be
G#m(hold)
but it's not me...
