Teddy Thompson

Biography:

Teddy Thompson (born 19 February, 1976, in London, England) is a British folk and rock musician. He is the son of Linda thompson and Richard Thompson (who famously performed and recorded as Richard & Linda Thompson), and the brother of singer Kami Thompson. His fifth studio album, Bella, was released in 2011.

Thompson's style is difficult to categorize, because his influences are varied. Growing up around folk music, he listened to a musical gamut that covered Hank Williams, Jimi Hendrix, Sam Cooke and gospel.

Teddy Thompson - Down Low

CAPO: 4th Fret

[Intro]
C

[Verse 1]
Dm
Love, I've been thinking of you
D G
And the things I used to do
C
And the trouble I make
Dm
Love, you'd be better off dead
D G
With a bullet in your head
C
Than to come back to me

[Chorus]
C F
Keep it on the down low
C Dm
Don't tell everybody you know
G F
I loved you more than I showed
C F
But I'm only a man
C Dm
And my pride makes demands
G F
That only ever lead me to sorrow

[Verse 2]
C Dm
So burn all the letters I sent
D G
For every word that I meant
C
There were two that were lies
Dm
And forget every nice things I said
D G
There were thoughts in my head
C
That would make you cry

[Chorus]
C F
Keep it on the down low
C Dm
Don't tell everybody you know
G F
I loved you more than I showed
C F
But I'm only a man
C Dm
And my pride makes demands
G F
That only ever lead me to sorrow

[Bridge]
G Dm
I was making you sad
F G
I have a heart, but it is bad

[Chorus]
C F
Keep it on the down low
C Dm
Don't tell everybody you know
G F
I loved you more than I showed
C F
But I'm only a man
C Dm
And my pride makes demands
G F
That only ever lead me to sorrow

[Verse 3]
Dm
So go, good luck try to grow
D G
Break the habits I show
C
While you still got time
Dm
And find someone who cares
D G
For you and himself
C
While you still got time
