Suzzy Roche - Lightning Storm

CAPO: 2nd Fret

[Intro]
G

[Verse 1]

On the plane ride home I said, "Why, oh, why
C G
Are we bouncing up and down in the sky?"
Am G
It's a beautiful, frightening lightning storm

[Verse 2]

I held you close with the heart of my gaze
C G
You weren't afraid, to my amaze
Am G
In the beautiful, frightening lightning storm

[Chorus]
Bm C
It was fun, even though
D
There was nothing to hold onto
Bm C
Fun and I know
D G
There was nothing to hold onto

[Verse 3]

And when they brought the peanuts around
C G
We said we'll take a drink to wash them down
Am G
In the beautiful, frightening lightning storm

[Verse 4]

There's a whole lot baby you can't control
C G
So put your seat back and 'roll mag roll'
Am G
In the beautiful, frightening lightning storm

[Chorus]
Bm C
It was fun, even though
D
There was nothing to hold onto
Bm C
Fun and I know
D G Dm
There was nothing to hold onto

[Bridge]
Faug G Dm
It's been a long
Faug G
And scary year
C G Dm
One thing after another
C F Dm
Something else to fear
Faug G Dm
Well, why should I
Faug G C
Worry to fly
Dm7
Gonna hang my head down
C F C
And cry, cry, cry
Dm7
I'm gonna hang my head down
C F C
And cry, cry, cry

[Verse 5]

Pretty soon those city lights below
C G
Showed through and the wind did blow
Am G
In the beautiful, frightening lightning storm

[Chorus]
Bm C
Da da dum
D
Nothing to hold onto
Bm C
Da da dum
D
Nothing to hold onto
Bm C
Da da dum
D G
Nothing to hold onto
