Superchunk

Misfits And Mistakes

by Superchunk
Superchunk

Biography:

Superchunk is an indie rock band which formed in 1989 in the college town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States. The band consists of Mac McCaughan (vocals, guitar), Laura Ballance (bass), Jim Wilbur (guitar) and Jon Wurster (drums). McCaughan and Ballance founded the indie record label Merge Records mostly to distribute the band's material, but has since grown into one of the largest indie record labels in the United States.

After a pair of well-received singles, Superchunk released Superchunk in 1990, a critically-lauded LP.

Superchunk-Misfits and Mistakes

This is my first time doing chords, so im not completely sure how to do this, but
i'll try my best.

This isn't the way superchunk plays it, just a good sounding acoustic version
Capo on 2nd If you want to play along with the recording
Listen to the song to get the rhythm just right

Verse

C G

All these open spaces

G

Well they give me no cover now

Am D

I stand out here, reflecting all your fears off my odd surfaces

C G

And those friendly faces,

G

Well they just, disappear somehow

Am D

Behind the glass, the dirty window curtains and shades coming down

[Repeat Intro X2]

C G
Well these bright clear skies

G Am
well they they give me no peace of mind

Am
I'm out here cooking all alone in the sun

D
Put me away I'm done anyhow

C
And those funny faces

G
Yeah they're all crumbling down

Am D
It's something like shying away from any shapes that you don't recognize

Chorus:

Fmj
But you were never delicate

G
Paper clips and paper cuts

Fmj
Rusty plates from out of state

G
And further away than that

Fmj G
Say you will, Say you will

G
Gather like leaves in the gutter

Fmj
Say you will, say you will

G
Put all the random pieces together

[Repeat Intro x3](I havnt learned the solo yet)

Fmj
But you were never delicate

G
Paper clips and paper cuts

Fmj G
Rusty plates, plastic six pack rings round the wrists of the worst of us

Fmj
Say you will, say you will

G
Gather like leaves in the gutter

Fmj
Say you will, say you will

G
Gather like leaves in the gutter

Fmj
Say you will, say you will

G
Put all the random pieces together

Fmj
Say you will, say you will

G
For all the misfits, mistakes and the others

Fmj
Say you will, say you will

G
Fall down together like lines in you leters

Outro:

C-Am
G
put all the random pieces together
C-Am
G
put all the random pieces together

End with intro

I like to end with the intro, it sound cool

Hope this helps someone
