[Verse]
D
It's the last train before they shut it down
D
It's the last line goin' that way
D
Last chance headin' out of town
D
I thought I heard the driver say

D
Packed my bags and all my things and
D
Left them all behind
D
Red light flashin' cross that river bridge and I'm
D
Headin' down to Caroline

D D

D
Far away from my everyday
D
'Till every day ran dry
D
Never stopped to look behind me
D
Or turn to say goodbye

[Chorus]
D G D G D
So tell the ones I love this train's a runnin' late
G D A
There ain't no end of the line
G D G D
The hardest part of heaven is makin' it wait
G D A A7 D
The old ninety-seven's gonna make it this time

Feel them shakin' 'neath the weight of all our past

Close my eyes and feel the wind

D
You can feel it in your soul
