Biography:

Solas es un grupo musical irlandés-americano, formado en 1996, que toca música tradicional irlandesa, así como composiciones originales en el mismo estilo.

Su nombre proviene de una palabra irlandesa que significa "luz". En ese momento, la banda estaba formada por Séamus Egan, que ya había grabado dos discos como solista, así como una banda sonora para una película; Winifred Horan, componente de Cherish the Ladies; John Doyle, anteriormente miembro de The Chanting House con Egan; Karan Casey y John Williams.
