Angeline Slocan Ramblers
I am not aware of any other versions out or any of their songs posted out there, which is a shame.
I welcome any feedback. I play it in 1-2 time or free strumming, however it sounds good to you after
hearing the song. I first heard these young Canadiens at the mother of all folk festivals, Merlefest,
in April 2016 and totally fell for them and their CD, Coffee Creek, released in 2015.
They are incredible musicians and I am sure we will be hearing more from them. Check 'em out.

[Verse 1]
D G D
Had a lot of faith when I was young
D G A
Things were different where I come from
G D G A D
Never thought much of home, Angeline, that haunts me now.

D G D
I left home just to get away
D G A
Find some work and earn some pay
G D G A D
But o-oh, God, the years, Angeline, I lost my way

[Chorus]
(D) G D G D
There’s my mother in her letters. There’s my father singin’ tunes
(D) G D G A D
There’s my Sisters and my Brothers. Angeline, I think of you

[Verse 2]
D G D
It ain’t hard to find a friend
D G A
With cocaine and money to spend
G D G A D
Drinkin’ and playing cards, Angeline, it fell apart.

D G D
You can lose your head so fast,
D G A
Crash like a freight train comin’ off the tracks
G D G A D
I ki-illed a man that night, Angeline, I took his life…

[Chorus]
(D) G D G D
There’s my mother in her letters. There’s my father singin’ tunes
(D) G D G A D
There’s my Sisters and my Brothers. Angeline, I think of you

[Verse 3]
D G D
Ain’t it funny how things can change
D G A
And I wonder if you feel the same
G D G A D
Twenty long ye-ars remain, Angeline, comin’ home to you…

[Chorus]
(D) G D G D
Home to my mother, and her letters. Home to father, singin' tunes.
(D) G D G A D
Home to my sisters and my brothers, Angeline, comin' home to you.
G A D
Angeline, comin' home to you.
