G
She had a whim of iron
D
You couldn’t tell her no

And if you did, she’d prove you wrong
G
And say – I told you so!
C
She’d get a big idea
G
Friends would roll their eyes
D
Then she’d pull it off
G
When on one else would even dare to try

G
She had a whim of iron
D
Like the time she met

This broke down poet
G
He was a World War Two vet
C
One day he proposed
G
And she said – I do!
D
To this gentle soul
G
And she didn’t care that he was 92
C
She tried to buy the old church
G
Before they tore it down
D
Took up a collection
G
All over town
C
She raised a half a million
G
Fixed it up so nice
D
Now there’s actors
D
And dancers
D
And singers
G
Where there used to be bats and mice

G
She ran for office once
D
In the state of Maine

She said – I’ll bet I can’t do worse
G
Than old what’s his name!
C
She shook things up
G
For a little while
D
Told the good old boys off good
G
With a wink and a smile

G
She had a whim of iron
D
You couldn’t tell her no

And if you did, she’d prove you wrong
G
And say – I told you so!
C
She’d get a big idea
G
Friends would roll their eyes
D
Then she’d pull it off
G
When on one else would even dare to try
G
She had a whim of iron
G
You couldn’t tell her no
G
She had a whim of iron
