Skinny Lister

Fair Winds Following Seas

by Skinny Lister
Skinny Lister

Biography:

As music fans we’re only ever given fragments of lives well lived, and we scrabble vicariously through them. Skinny Lister, though, have really given us as much as they can since 2009. They’ve led an endless parade gathering fans old and new, from the respected folk circuit to the riotous Download Festival, igniting pogoing mosh-pits at each. Over the past ten years they’ve travelled from rain-soaked London to the vast arteries of the USA, upgrading from narrow boat to Salty Dog Cruise

[Intro]
C G F C G

[Verse]
C G
Let the road rise up to meet us
F C G
There’s a rabble on the loose
C G
We had ourselves one hell of a time
F C G
Tearing up the town with you

[Verse]
C G
We got ourselves some stories
F C G
Took a wrong turn or two (just one or two)
C G
We made ourselves a whole load of friends
F G
One night only then we’re on the move

[Chorus]
G E A
Fair winds and following seas
D E A
Thank you for the memories
D E A D E
Fair winds and following seas
A D E
I know we’ll meet again somewhere

[Verse]
C G
For new friends and repeat offenders
F C G
To the sweaty dive bar shows
C G
We ram the van with all that we can
F C G
North to South and coast to coast

[Verse]
C G
We found ourselves adventure
F C G
We shared a drink or two (just one or two)
C G
We lived ourselves a whole lot of life
F G
Sentimental when the tour is through

[Chorus]
G E A
Fair winds and following seas
D E A
Thank you for the memories
D E A D E
Fair winds and following seas
A D E
I know we’ll meet again somewhere

[Bridge]
D
Here’s to all the roads we’ve trod
A
And to those we’ve trod them with
D
To those who’ve run and drunk and sung with us
A E
And the tomorrows yet to live

(sing it)
C G F C G

C G F C C E

[Chorus]
A
Fair winds and following seas
D E A
Thank you for the memories
D E A D E
Fair winds and following seas
A D
I know we’ll meet again

D E A D E
Fair winds and following seas
A D E
I know we’ll meet again somewhere
