SKEETER DAVIS - Ladder Of Success

From the Album "Let Me Get Close to You (RCA Victor) (1964)

(Keith Colley - Nancie Mantz - tabbed by M. Otai)

Nothing can stop him now no one can top him now
I guess I'll have to let him go
Up, up, up, the ladder of success (up, up, up, up.)

E A B E A B
Once he let me share his dreams
E A B E A B
But now that they come true it seems
E F#m Gm A
He doesn't want my love I guess look there goes my happiness
E A B
They're climbin' up up up the ladder of success

E
(The ladder of success.)

E A B E A B
Things are like he said they'd be
E A B E A B
I thought his plans included me
E F#m Gm A
He forgot his words of love fame is all he's thinking of
E A B E
A going up up up up the ladder of success
E7
(The ladder of success.)

A E
I liked him better in his white dungarees
A F# B
When he was all mine with patches on his knees
(With patches on his knees)

E A B E A B
When his name went up in lights
E A B E A B
All I got were lonely nights.

E F#m
He doesn't want my love I guess
Gm A
Look there goes my happiness
E A B
A goin' up up up up the ladder of success
(Climbin' up whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...)
