Simone Felice - Gettysburg

capo 4th fret

one two threw four

C Em F
Sick and tired of Gettysburg, they made me write it down
C Em F
That was such a heavy word for me to carry around
C Em F
Just a young American, another pretty slave
C Em F
Trying to get to heaven, man, like all the billboards say

C G F
ohhhhh ohhhhhh ohhhhhh
C G F
ohhhhh ohhhhhh ohhhhhh

C Em F
I found you dancing, girl, there between the pines
C Em F
Every, everything I've learned went running out into the night
C Em F
You named me baby blue, took my shaky hands
C Em F
Loved me for a year or two, then danced away again

C G F
ohhhhh ohhhhhh ohhhhhh
C G F
ohhhhh ohhhhhh ohhhhhh

C Em F
Now I guess I understand, it took a while to learn
C Em F
You were trying to teach me that, to damn the heavy words
C Em F
Meet me down in Gettysburg, hold me in the shade
C Em F
Rolling on the very earth where dying boys had laid
F
Where dying boys had laid

Come on down if you can
Come on, join the band (x2)
