Seven Mary Three

Where Are You Calling From

by Seven Mary Three
Seven Mary Three

Biography:

Within the alternative world, Seven Mary Three have often been compared to the mainstream-sounding, garage/arena rock of post-Ten Pearl Jam, but the group insists that their refusal to alienate themselves from the rest of the world makes them different. Instead, Seven Mary Three offer songs concerning self-discovery and true outsiders isolated from society. Based in Virginia (where the bandmates attended the College of William and Mary), Seven Mary Three signed to the Mammoth label after releasing a self-produced album, Churn, in 1994.

intro

verse:

D_______________________________G
Here beats the black heart of my rancor
The speed of life can dull your nerve
I beat no drum for anything anymore
Might have more than I deserve

D________________________G
The golden age of being amused
Has turned into the modern life and times of being confused
And I feel it too
When Iím alone in my room
Waiting for that light to blink
The little song I miss
Thereís a ghost there singing

chorus 1:

C_________C/B_____________F
I saw somebody jump the turnstile at the station

__C________________C/B______________F
He barely made the doors and took a seat
next to a stranger

C___________C/B___________F
I saw her eyes was as she brushed his body

_______________E
passing in the aisle

______________D____________F
And you said where are you calling from

G
tonight?

chorus 2 ends:

___________D
And I said where are you calling from
