Sarah McLachlan - Wintersong

I thought that since it's getting near Christmas time it would be a good time to post
song. Merry Christmas and enjoy!

*When Sarah plays this song on the piano, she usually hits each chord in the verse about
times. However, on Bm's, she usually hits that 3 times and then changes to a D before
to the next chord, so it looks like this: (Bm)(Bm)(Bm)(D). I've indicated where this
with an asterisk *. You can decide whether you like better playing with or without this.

Intro: G C G Bm
Em C G Bm*

Em C
The lake is frozen over
G Bm*
The trees are white with snow
Em C
And all around reminders of you
G Bm*
Are everywhere I go

C Em
Ooooh...
C D
Ooooh...

Em C
It’s late and morning’s in no hurry
G Bm*
But sleep won’t set me free
Em C
I lie awake and try to recall
G D
How your body felt beside me
C Em
When silence gets too hard to handle
C D
And the night too long

G C G
And this is how I see you
C D Em
In the snow on Christmas morning
C G
Love and happiness surround you
D
As you throw your arms up to the sky
Em
I keep this moment by and by
C G D
Oh how I miss you now, my love
Em C
Merry Christmas, merry Christmas,
G D
Merry Christmas, my love

Em C
Sense of joy fills the air
G Bm*
And I daydream and I stare
C Em
Up at the tree and I see
C D
Your star up there

G C G
And this is how I see you
C D Em
In the snow on Christmas morning
C G
Love and happiness surround you
D
As you throw your arms up to the sky
G
I keep this moment by and by
