(NOTE: This song is played in the key of B until the last chorus,
when it changes to the key of C. Because the capo is on the 2nd fret,
all chords after the key change must be played using alternative
fingering in the 3rd fret or higher.)

(A-D-A|E|) x2
I (D) love my life, love my husband
Without those kids, man I ain't nothing
I (A) love my fans, love my band
Love my little Tennessee piece of land
Some (D) times my life can get so hectic
Out of the blue when I least expect it
Some (Bm) where between the hubbub and the (E) drama
(Bm) I get to thinking 'bout (E) mama and

[CHORUS]
I'm (A) caught up in (D) missing (E) Missouri
'Cause I (F#m) wanna be with my (D) family
Instead of (A) stuck out on this (Bm) road (A) I'm (D) on (E)
(A) Every time my (D) bus wheels hit the (E) boot heel
There's no (F#m) limelight and I'm (E) alright
'Cause I'm (D) almost home
Where they (Bm) love me, where they (A) know me
Where they (D) show me (E) back in Missouri (A-D-A|E|)

The (D) road just ain't no place for whiners
It's motels, truck stops, all night diners and
(A) Hoping that your song'll sell
And having to smile when it ain't doing well
(D) Everything just gets too much
And I feel like I'm giving up
I (Bm) close my eyes and say a little (E) prayer
(Bm) And it's like I'm (E) there and

[CHORUS]

(A) Late summer nights sneaking out the (G) window
(A) Me and the girls driving down the back (G) roads
(D) Tobacco fields and (Bm) bumblebees
And the (D) Cardinals (A) playing (E) on TV

(key change)

I'm (C) caught up in (F) missing (G) Missouri
'Cause I (Am) wanna be with my (F) family
Instead of (C) stuck out on this (Dm) road (C) I'm (F) on (G)
(C) Every time my (F) bus wheels hit the (G) boot heel
There's no (Am) limelight and I'm (G) alright
'Cause I'm (F) almost home
Where they (Dm) love me, where they (C) know me
Where they (F) show me
Where they (Dm) love me, where they (C) know me
Where they (F) show me
Back in (C) Missouri (F-C|G|)
Back in (C) Missouri (F-C|G|)

(C) Every time my (F) bus wheels hit the (G) boot heel
There's no (Am) limelight and I'm (G) alright
'Cause I'm (F) almost home
Where they (Dm) love me, where they (C) know me
Where they (F) show me
Back in (C) Missouri (F-C|G|)
Back in (C) Missouri (F-C|G|)
(C) Every time my (F) bus wheels hit the (G) boot heel
I'm in (C) Missouri (F-C|G|)
(C-F-C|G|) repeat and fade
